Our Greely Youth Junior Varsity 4th & 5th Grade Team finished the regular season a perfect 7-0 and closed out the season going an impressive 3-0 in the JV Halloween Bowl hosted by Greely!

The JV team dominated the competition this year outscoring opponents 196-26 in their ten wins. The starting defense gave up one touchdown to Cape Elizabeth in the first game of the season and was not scored on again for the rest of the season in our wins against Falmouth, OOB, Yarmouth, Biddeford Black, Freeport and Scarborough Red.

The team mixed up our line ups and continued their success with wins against Windham, Portland Silver, and Saco Gold in the JV Halloween Bowl. Thank you to all of the volunteers who worked and supported us hosting the JV Halloween Bowl this year.

Some of our 4th graders and first year players also took part in the D-League mid-week games finishing 4-1-1 in those games.

It was a joy coaching this very talented group of kids this year. I can’t wait to see the 5th graders play as our Varsity team next year and for the 4th graders to lead the JV squad to another successful season next season.

Thank to all my assistants (Coaches Folwer, Ross, Stewart, Wells, Padgett, Robeck, and Livingston) for your hard work this year and to all of our great JV parents for your support this year.

The Greely Youth Pee Wee 2nd & 3rd Grade Football Team finished the regular season with a 5-1-1 record and went 5-0 in the Halloween Bowl at Freeport.

The team was made up of 14 first year players. There were 12 second graders and 6 third graders. Despite being outsized by most of the competition the players used their talent and speed to win five games in the regular season. The team’s only loss came in a water soaked battle against Falmouth. The last game of the season was a 0-0 tie against Saco Maroon under the lights at Thornton Academy Stadium. On a whole the team only allowed three scores all season.

The team finished their season with 5 shutout wins in the Halloween Bowl hosted by Freeport.

A strong group of 3rd graders will be moving up to the JV team next year while the second graders will become the leaders of next year’s Pee Wee Team.

Thank you to Coaches Mike Svigelj and Mike Piper for a great season. Also thank you to Dave Galvan and Adam Vogt for helping out with the team and to the families that supported the team all season.

The Greely & Yarmouth Combined Varsity 6th Grade Team finished their regular season with a 3-4 record and closed out the season going 1-1 in the Varsity Harvest Bowl at Fitzpatrick Stadium.

This year Greely and Yarmouth teamed up to form a combined Youth Varsity Team. The team of 13 boys and one girl quickly bonded together and started the season off to a strong win over neighboring Falmouth. The team battled through the season with additional wins over Cape Elizabeth, Falmouth and Portland.

It was a great collaborative effort where two programs came together to support the kids! We can’t want to see these kids play next year at the Middle School Level.

Thank you to Coaches MacArthur, Whiting, Wilson and Libby.

Thank you to the families for your support throughout the season.
